nANCY CARTER

I’m… Nancy Carter and I’m the Marketing Executive for Moving Ahead. I work closely with Lucy and Amy in the Marketing and Communications team, primarily driving engagement with our online platform FUSE, planning and implementing marketing campaigns, and assisting with the development of content for our mentoring programmes. I also produce and tailor analytics reviews both internally and for clients.

I studied… Philosophy and Politics at Durham University and I have just graduated. I tailored my studies and so was able to do in-depth research on areas including feminist phenomenology, radical feminist political thought, and philosophy of mind. As such, I have been primarily driven by feminist and egalitarian thought for the past three years, and so believe wholeheartedly that my values, interests and passions align very well with those of Moving Ahead. I’m grateful to be able to put this theoretical knowledge into practice.

I love… An eclectic mix of things. Primarily feminist thought and activism are my passion, and this has led me to find a love for writing and public speaking on topics such as female safety, women and the environment, and misogynoir.  I also have a new-found love for watercolour painting and have recently raised money for the NHS through this hobby. I also love Philosophy and spend a lot of my free time reading the Philosophy books I never got round to reading at university.

I bring… A lot of passion and determination. I have been inspired by the work of Moving Ahead, and think it is so important that D&I become a priority for every sector, organisation and team in today’s society. I am so excited to be able to put my drive for empowerment and inclusion into practice at Moving Ahead.

Moving Ahead… Is allowing me the opportunity to be creative, help implement change, and discover new talents and passions. Moving Ahead is also an incredibly important organization with such a variety of important programmes to offer. I am so grateful to be a part of such an empowering team, all of whom are genuinely driven by a passion for change.
