Monica Relph
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ROWER

Monica was first spotted as having potential in rowing by Great Britain’s talent identification programme ‘World Class Start’ in 2005. Success came quickly for Monica, who went from never having sat in a boat to becoming Under-23 World Champion just a few years later in the women’s eight – the first GB women’s eight to win a gold medal at a world championship.

Monica spent more than 10 years training and competing for the GB Rowing Team, racing at multiple European and World Championships with her sights firmly set on representing her country at the Olympic Games. In 2015, a career-ending injury halted her aspirations of making the Olympic Games and after a challenging rehabilitation period Monica transitioned into the world of work and is now a core member of the Moving Ahead team.

Monica is now a mentoring expert and shares her experiences of harnessing perspective, maintaining progression and building resilience with teams and clients.
